Reiki for Pets–the Why, How, and All That Good Stuff

daisyNatural relief from physical and emotional discomfort is now available with reiki treatment. This non-invasive, gentle form of hands-on healing has been used for thousands of years across the globe. It is an excellent accompaniment to any medical treatment and a useful method for soothing pets emotionally during times of stress. Reiki can be used to maintain good health and emotional well-being for a pet who is currently free of symptoms.

Reiki works by increasing the life force energy and calming the mind. Animals and humans exude warmth and energy, but stress and illness cause a decrease in energy; the main energy centers of the body become blocked. By allowing this Universal Energy to flow into my hands, I then pass it along to your pet by laying my hands on certain positions of his or her body. Simply stroking and massaging the animal while the energy is flowing can be equally effective. Distance reiki can provide relief as well.  Your pet may feel tingling or warmth during the reiki, and the relaxation that most pets experience is highly therapeutic. Results will vary for each animal, as will treatment frequency and duration, and I welcome feedback from the sessions. Continue reading “Reiki for Pets–the Why, How, and All That Good Stuff”

Wonders Never Cease

Ah yes, all the hoopla about 2012. End of the world and such, blah, blah, blah.  Shore up on vittles and be very scared because the Mayan calendar has ended. I personally think they left work for Happy Hour at the local watering hole and decided they were done with the project. I simply don’t believe the physical world will implode.

However, I can say, 2012 has brought life-shattering changes I never anticipated. Gargantuan changes in my personal life have left me preparing to seek full time employment, a very unwelcome event. As you may guess, I have been a bit down. (That was just the understatement of the year, folks.)

And Here is How You Do It…..Straight from the Piehole of My Spirit Guide John

Well, lucky  me! I don’t have to write my blog today–my spirit guide John is doing it for me. He has something to share with everyone, so grab yourself a Twinkie, sit back, and enjoy!
“Today I shall talk about connecting with your spirit guides. They are like your butt…..everyone has one. Not saying that your guides are butts, now, just that you all have them. I am just giving you the low down on how to connect easily and quickly.

Step 1: Ask to communicate with us. Trust we will be there. It really is that simple.

Step 2: Be quiet and listen for the wind. What wind, you are probably asking right now. What I mean is listen for that which does not seem present. Be patient. Try and try again. We may come to you as pictures, words, thoughts, sounds….whatever you notice which is atypical of your usual stream of consciousness is us.

“I Don’t Need To Walk a Mile in Your Shoes…I Can See You’re a Trainwreck from Here.”

Ohhhh boy. The above one liner on Facebook which had me laughing uproariously is my description of a lady I met at a networking function last week. Granted, it was a casual affair. No need to don the stiff business suit, but still needed to gussy up at least a bit. So gussy I did, as did the other guests. Except one. Denim short shorts. Tight tank top with bra peeking up over the front of it.  Pony tail perched messily high atop her head. Flossed teeth twice at the table. Yep. Twice. Wow.

After recovering from the shock, my first thoughts were of excusing her attire and behavior. “Maybe she is just having a bad day.” “Maybe she really wanted to attend and didn’t have time to run home and change.” She also hogged the conversation mercilessly–oink! oink! Floss! Floss! “Maybe she talks too much because she is nervous.” Maybe I am being WAY TOO NICE! I try not to be a judgmental wench…I am not a paragon of perfection myself, after all.

My Top 5 Intuitive Development Books

My goodness! But what a bevy, a veritable, massive bevy of books about psychic phenomena these days! What to read first? Who is truly credible? Will stuffing my piehole into this book every night do me a damn bit of good anyway?

Let us clear up the question of whether or not reading about intuitive development will do you any good. It will….if you practice what you read. If you believe that you can do what you read. Just reading the book and taking no action will be like moseying your fanny into the local Y, then reclining on the floor and watching everyone else sweat to the oldies. If you are serious about becoming more intuitive, then you must be willing to put the time and effort into it. And every single last one of us is intuitive. All of us. So get that belief system rearranged, grab your specs, and let’s fire up some righteous reading!

Be a Good Girl or Boy, and Use Your Protection

And I am not talking about condoms here, either. The cooties and nasties we turn our attention to in this blog are simply yucky energy in its various forms.

We  encounter negative energy through a bevy of methods. The people we have contact with physically, even briefly, can supply us with a liberal dose of crappy vibes. If you feel tired and drained after being around a certain person or large groups, then rest assured you are the lucky recipient of their low energy. I was on a train in Chicago, heading downtown to shop with Jim, abuzz with the untethered exuberance that only a shopping trip provides. Not a single cell in my sassy little self felt the least bit tired, until……a young man boarded and slouched beside me. IMMEDIATELY all I cared about was a nap. Filene’s Basement could go screw itself….where was my pillow? Feeling deflated, I was concerned I had eaten poorly at lunch and was experiencing a blood sugar crash, which would jack with my ability to shop in the frisky manner I had planned. Next stop, the aforementioned slouchy young man shuffled off the train, and WHAM! Energy restored! HE had been draining me, not my delicious lunch. Thank God. Shopping snafu diverted.

Something Necessary for Intuitive Development that No One Ever Tells You

There are many books about developing your intuitive/psychic abilities. The bookshelves are just agog with them at your local library and bookstore–and I have read a fair number of them. As someone who has invested a bevy of time and energy into her intuitive development, I can say that I haven’t seen much emphasis placed on one very important aspect of intuitive development. It is especially critical for the intuitive newcomer. It is this: get enough sleep. Get lots.

Your body is your radar, your antennae, your CB radio, your iPhone app, whatever, to the energetic vibrations all around you. In order to accurately begin to feel and interpret these waves of energy, you need to keep your body in tip-top order. The body is the RV for your soul, the vehicle which transports your energy  and by which you understand all that is around you. When you are chronically sleep deprived, as most Americans are, you  just aren’t all there. You function more slowly and simply don’t notice nearly as much about anything. Being acutely attuned to your environment and your energetic shifts is a MAJOR piece in learning to use your intuition routinely and reliably. New intuitive developers will find it so much more aggravating and frustrating trying to feel energy when they can’t stop yawning. When you are at least relatively well rested most of the time, all 6 of your senses will be so much more keen and vibrant.

Enough for now. I have to go take a nap…..  :).

Perhaps John Needs Some Midol

I had the distinct pleasure of observing famed psychic medium John Edward do his thing in front of a live audience on March 8th. I love John. I have devoured all his books except his one fiction piece….ol’ boy knows his stuff and can also easily teach it to others. So I was curious to see what he would be like in person.

He was just what I expected, with one exception. He really got on the rag with some audience members who didn’t readily agree with the information he received….thus the title of this blog. Midol maybe, John? Or perhaps I would get a bit feisty too if I had done this type of work for 30 years and dealt with all the heckling that invariably arrives with it.

What Does Psychic Phenomena/Intuition Have in Common with a Colostomy Bag?

Good question, huh? And one you have never considered, I bet. Here’s the answer: they have absolutely nothing in common. However, when I meet with other business people, or tell anyone in general what my profession is, I receive a few typical responses. One of them is for the person’s eyes to suddenly dart furtively about the room , lower their voice to a whisper as if preparing to tell me to give me the details of their colostomy bag, and mumble, ” I would never tell anyone this but you….” Then I hear about their ability to sense spirits, predict the future, know when someone will die, what have you. They seem very embarrassed about having intuitive and psychic occurrences.

Why are we ashamed of what is a very natural, universal experience? We are born this way….all of us. It is our birthright to use our 6th sense in an ethical way to help ourselves and others. I don’t know why we are ashamed…..I suspect we could blame the Puritans for this. Bunch of sour pussed, ol’ party poopers. You know if I had been around back then, they would have slapped me between 2 graham crackers, with some chocolate and marshmellow, and made a big, blond s’more out of me. They certainly didn’t value any intuitive expressions, and I think that attitude has remained in certain folks.

The Mystery and Methods of Intuition

Intuition, psychic ability, however you slice and dice it, whatever you call it…..it works in mysterious ways. It does, though, arrive in your consciousness through a variety of sensory methods; that we can bank on. And what are those sensory methods? ?(I am getting some help writing this blog from my Spirit guide, John. He is a bit on the formal side, which is why this blog kinda sounds like I have a corn cob in my ass as I write this.)

First, we can hear our intuition. Literally. You may hear a sentence in your head, such as “Don’t drive that way today. There will be an accident.” You can also see intuitive information, such as having a strong vision of an accident occurring just as you are preparing to turn your car onto another road. Some folks receive information through their sense of smell. One time I was doing a reading and smelled the stinky feet of a man whom my client potentially could wind up dating. Grody! Taste comes in there too–sometimes a taste of food will pass through my piehole as I do a reading for a client. You can also have a strong sense of knowing…..don’t know why you know what you know, but you strongly feel it to be true. Then there is the feeling sense–you can feel other people’s tiredness, headaches, etc. During readings, I can feel a client’s old injuries or health problems in my own body.
